Tour Epic's newly completed Campus 4, also known as the Wizard Academy, Deep Space Auditorium and observe one of the world’s largest Green Roof initiatives. The new campus is composed of five office buildings, each with its own interior design themed identity. Deep Space, holds a 11,700 seats expandable to 14,000 and is underground. Excavated into a hillside to preserve views throughout the campus, the auditorium extends 74 feet underground and is covered by an eight-acre green roof with vertical glazing for daylight.
Buildings on our tour will include: The Observatory, The Library, The Classroom, Great Hall, and The fortress followed by a tour through the dining facility which has been designed with respect to London’s historic “Kings Cross” train station and a sneak peek at upcoming Campus 5.
Schedule for the day:
10:30 AM | Arrive at Parking lot. You will walk to tour Start. |
11:00 - 11:30 AM | First stop….Welcome and Opening Remarks with Overview of EPIC project. Lunch provided to eat now or carry along. |
11:30 – 1:15 PM | Tour campus |
1:15 - 1:30 | Break with snacks and water |
1:30- 3:15 | Tour campus |
3:15 – 3:30 | Return to morning meeting place with Q&A / snack and water provided |
3:45 – 4:00 | Walk to parking lot |
Remember…This is a Walking and Standing Adventure. Comfortable walking shoes are a must for this tour. Be sure to wear proper attire as we tour rain or shine!
You will be walking or standing for the majority of this tour with only a few opportunities to sit.
DETAILS:
You must arrive no later than 10:30 AM. We will provide a boxed lunch which can be eaten at the start of the tour or on the go. A mid-tour break is planned and we will provide water and snacks. Call the ALA office at 847-382-0730 with any questions.
Dress:
Wear comfortable shoes - this is a walking tour. We will tour rain or shine, so please dress accordingly.
Directions/Parking:
Please follow the driving directions below to the construction entrance on Northern Lights Rd. Download map which shows the tour entrance and parking information. Look for ALA signs.
DO NOT attempt to Google as the instructions could be incorrect and you may not arrive on time. DO NOT seek assistance from Epic. DAY OF TOUR...Call 608-777-0104 if you are lost. The construction entrance is at 802 Northern Lights Road, Verona, WI.
Follow these directions from Route 90:
From the North or South traveling via Route 90 to Exit 142 A
Take exit 142A to merge onto US-12 W/US-18 W toward Madison 9.1 miles
Use the 2nd from the right lane to take exit 258 toward Dodgeville .1 mile
Use the 2nd from the left lane to turn left onto US-151 S/US-18 W .3 mile
Stay on US-151 S/US-18 W 1.6 miles
Use the right 2 lanes to turn right onto County Rd PD/McKee Rd 4.4 miles
Turn left onto Northern Lights Rd .8 miles
Destination is on the LEFT. Look for ALA signs at the construction entrances
Learning Objectives:
1. Review Epic’s themed interior office environments and office building efficiencies.
2. Review one of the world’s largest Green Roof projects. The combined campus currently has over 1,588,708 SF of green roof (extensive & intensive).
3. Discuss sustainable design practice throughout the campus including Solar, Geothermal, etc.
4. Experience Epic’s new campus, Dining Facility and Deep Space Auditorium.
