Join us for a cookout and learn about the latest addition to the Milwaukee lakefront "The Couture" from project architect Rinka Chung and structural engineer, Thorton Tomasetti.
This presentation is a comprehensive look at The Couture from project inception to the current design development. Described as Wisconsin’s most prominent development site, the project location on Milwaukee’s downtown lakefront has spectacular views in all directions and sits at a critical connection point between the city and the lakefront. We will cover the project team and public / private partnerships, project design concepts and goals, development hurdles / site challenges, the current design direction, and technical solutions for the high-rise structure.

Chad Griswold, AIA - Principal, Rinka Chung Architecture
Chad is a principal with Rinka Chung and has been with firm for the majority of its 12-year history. His experience is focused on management of complex projects and teams for a diverse range of project types and scales. Chad’s work with Rinka Chung includes The Moderne residential high-rise, numerous Associated Bank retail and corporate locations, and many other multi-family residential, corporate, and high-rise projects. Chad is currently leading the project team for the Couture, a 44-story tower located on Milwaukee’s Lakefront. Rinka Chung Architecture Inc is an award-winning full service architecture and design firm existing to serve progressive and visionary clients. They specialize in complex collaborative projects that require unique, thoughtful, and creative design solutions that enhance peoples’ lives.
John Peronto, S.E., P.E., MIStructE, SECB, LEED AP - Principal, Thornton Tomasetti
Mr. Peronto is experienced in the design of a variety of building types, including commercial, residential, cultural, and aviation; with specialized expertise in the design of tall to supertall towers. Among Mr. Peronto's portfolio of projects are the +1,000-meter-tall Kingdom Tower, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; the 600-meter-tall Chicago Spire, Illinois; the Federation of Korean Industries New Headquarters Tower, Seoul, South Korea; the Couture Tower, Milwaukee, WI; and one of the largest aviation hangars in the world at Memphis International Airport. He is also a patent inventor for the Tilt thrill device in the observatory of the Chicago Hancock Tower.
