Lighting has been revolutionized by offering more choices while meeting energy efficiency, cost savings and code compliance.
This one-hour presentation provides an overview of lighting design techniques and how to assess and compare luminaire performance characteristics to create inspired architectural downlighting in commercial interiors.

Learning Objectives:
1. Discuss the role of downlighting, in conjunction with other luminaire types, in creating visually interesting spaces with multiple layers of light.
2. Apply downlighting to effectively light vertical surfaces.
3. Apply downlighting for uniform and non-uniform general illumination and high contrast accent lighting.
4. Use spec sheet and photometric data to select, compare and identify the best downlight for use in a given application.
