Engineered wood products are structural wood products manufactured by bonding together wood strands, veneers, lumber or other forms of wood fiber. These high performance building components achieve predictable and reliable performance characteristics with the efficient use of natural resources.
Our presenter, Matt Brown, will explain the information shown in the APA trademark and how it relates to floor, wall, and roof construction. We will also explore APA Performance Rated Panels, span ratings, exposure durability, grades and specialty panel definitions and other common Engineered Wood Products in the industry.
Learning Objectives:
1. Become familiar with the applications, classifications, and grades of APA Rated Sheathing.
2. Review the applications, characteristics, and categories of APA Rated Siding, including rough sawn, kerfed rough sawn, T 1-reverse board and batten, brush, channel groove, and overlaid siding.
3. Understand grades and applications of APA Performance Rated Panels, including grade stamp terminology, grade designations, Bond Classifications, group number, Span Ratings, and specialty grades.
