Program Overview: 
This webinar explains how to specify energy efficient elevators and how new codes affect elevator designs. Examples will be provided of specific codes affecting elevator applications, particularly with regard to sustainability. 

Elevators use significant energy and there are more and less efficient options. There are also faster and slower options. Regenerative traction or machine room-less elevators are increasing in popularity. Noise and floor space requirements vary between your choices. This webinar will primarily focus on energy efficiency considerations but will touch on the other items mentioned above. Current energy codes (90.1, IECC, & T24) include elevator energy efficiency requirements that your specs should comply with. 90.1 and IECC reference an ISO energy efficiency standard.

Know when lighting/ventilation or movement efficiency are most important

Understand what you need to tell your electrical engineer if you go “all the way” to a regenerative elevator, which is no longer a “stretch” technology
