...Specifying Efficient Elevators
. Popular speaker Jeff Boldt, PE, FASHRAE, LEED AP, HBDP, Managing Principal - Sr. Mechanical Engineering Specialist, IMEG will share knowledge on best practices when specifying energy efficient elevators.
There will be ample time for Questions and Answers. The webinar begins at 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM CST.
This webinar explains how to specify energy efficient elevators and how new codes affect elevator designs. Examples will be provided of specific codes affecting elevator applications, particularly with regard to sustainability.
Elevators use significant energy and there are more and less efficient options. There are also faster and slower options. Regenerative traction or machine room-less elevators are increasing in popularity. Noise and floor space requirements vary between your choices. This webinar will primarily focus on energy efficiency considerations but will touch on the other items mentioned above. Current energy codes (90.1, IECC, & T24) include elevator energy efficiency requirements that your specs should comply with. 90.1 and IECC reference an ISO energy efficiency standard.
Learning Objective 1:
Understand the different types of elevators and how the new codes affect their application
Learning Objective 2:
Know when lighting/ventilation or movement efficiency are most important
Learning Objective 3:
Understand what you need to tell your electrical engineer if you go “all the way” to a regenerative elevator, which is no longer a “stretch” technology
Learning Objective 4:
Understand the basics of the ISO elevator efficiency standards & the 90.1/IECC requirements
