2021 IECC Residential Energy Code Updates...A Breakfast Meeting, Tuesday, February 7th
Join ALA in-person for a breakfast meeting on Tuesday, February 7th, 7:30 am - 10:00 am at Maggiano's 1901 E. Woodfield Rd., Schaumburg, IL.
Matthew Brown, Engineered Wood Specialist, Engineered Wood Association will present the updates to the building envelope and air leakage requirements of the 2021 - IECC Residential Energy Code.
Attendees will gain knowledge on the different pathways for compliance and mandatory requirements in the energy code.

Matthew Brown is involved with the energy codes at the national level attending ICC hearings and becoming an ICC Certified Residential Energy Code Inspector and Plans Examiner as well as a HERS Rater, and Certified Green Professional (CGP). In Joining APA-The Engineered Wood Association, he works to educate the wood industry on the impacts of energy efficiency and educate the Raters, Code Officials and Builders on the advantages of wood construction for energy efficiency and sustainability.
Matthew’s role with APA-The Engineered Wood Association, is to build relationships with Builders, Suppliers, Code Officials, Engineers and Architects to be a resource for Engineered Wood Products(EWP). Offering education, consulting and product assistance as needs arise. He has a deep understanding in the true energy efficiency of Engineered Wood Products and brings knowledge on how Engineered Wood Products can effectively compete in today's advanced Energy Code's.

2. Understand requirements for building envelope assemblies and components.
3. Discuss air leakage requirements based on the new code.
4 Gain knowledge of additional efficiency options in the 2021 Residential IECC.
