Join ALA in this tour of the historic Swatchbox architectural sample warehouse in Elgin, Illinois. Swatchbox is a digital platform and service for architects to order free material samples from top brands with free shipping. This event is hosted at their brick-and-mortar location in Elgin’s historic district, where attendees will learn about how architectural samples such as countertops, flooring, railing roofing fabric, tile, and others are cataloged, curated, and shipped using sustainable practices. Representatives from Swatchbox will present an AIA-registered seminar on Reducing Sample Waste in Design, providing an overview of their methods and practices to reduce, avoid, and in some cases eliminate the waste that comes from architectural samples.
