ALA is pleased to announce that Richard Piccolo, president and founder of B & F Construction Code Services, Inc., and the Building & Fire Code Academy, will present an overview of the 2018 International Building Code (IBC). This class will provide a comprehensive analysis of the significant changes in the IBC for the transition from the 2015 Edition to the 2018 Edition through summaries, illustrations and discussion. Participants will be able to identify these code changes allowing them to better apply the changes to inspections and plan review as well as have the opportunity to discuss the changes, reasons behind the changes, and it relation to field work.
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify the significant changes in the transition of the 2015 Edition to the 2018 Edition of the IBC
2. Compare and contrast the differences between the current 2015 Edition and the proposed 2018 Edition
3. Identify the applicability of the proposed 2018 Edition of the Code relating to inspections and plan review
4. Apply the modifications to the code sections for plan review, inspections and local amendments.
