Join ALA for a Unique and Memorable Day at Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin in Spring Green, WI*

Experience the picturesque rural estate, incredible architecture, learn about preservation efforts and enjoy a locally sourced farm to table lunch in Tan-y-deri, the home Frank Lloyd Wright built for his sister. Yes! we will be dining inside the home and enjoying some amazing views of the estate.  Our stop here is 1 1/2 hours.  This tour takes a more personal approach, allowing you more time to enjoy the Estate and experience the food and land connection.

Our Estate Tour begins at the Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor Center, the only free-standing restaurant designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.  Enjoy a welcome coffee and presentation about preservation.  From there, we will be shuttled to the Taliesin Estate for a walking tour that moves through a large portion of the Estate.  We will dine at Tan-y-deri for a sit down farm to table lunch.

Some highlights include:
1. Exploring Hillside, the school that Wright designed for his aunts.  Here, you'll see the Assembly Hall, Fellowship Dining Room, Drafting Studio, Theater, and gallery space.
2. Taking a country side walk past the Romeo and Juliet Windmill Tower, the oldest design on the Estate.
3. Dining inside Tan-y-deri.  Here we stop for 1 1/2 hours for you to enjoy an exclusive culinary experience from local Chef, Jeremy Lynch of Enos Farms. Lunch will be locally sourced, including organic meats and vegetables, gourmet salad, dessert, and a craft punch. Breads are from Origin breads, all organic grown at Meadowlark Organics and milled at Lonesome Stone.
Special meals are available upon request during your online registration.

Be sure to wear proper attire as we tour in rain or shine and most of the buildings at Taliesin do not have heat or air conditioning!  You will have the chance to rest while enjoying lunch at Tan-y-deri.

Please note
Walking is at a casual pace, but we will be walking on some uneven terrain including gravel and grass.  If you are concerned with accessibility, please contact Joanne Sullivan, ALA 847-382-0630 to determine which alternate tours are best suited to your abilities and/or what special arrangements might be made.

Interior and exterior picture taking is allowed in all of the buildings, except for the working drafting studio space in the Hillside Home School.

About Taliesin
