Course Description
This seminar will provide a comprehensive review of the 2018 Illinois Accessibility Code guidelines for toilet and bathing facilities. Design and compliance requirements for single-user and multi-user toilet rooms, including water closets, lavatories, signage and clearances will be covered. We’ll also explore accessibility standards for bathing facilities, including transfer showers, roll-in showers and bathtubs.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this seminar, participants will be able to:
1. Understand which toilet and bathing facilities must be accessible under the Illinois Accessibility Code.
2. Apply clearance and space requirements for plumbing fixtures and accessible elements in both single-user and multi-user toilet rooms.
3. Identify technical requirements for showers, bathtubs, and lavatories across different settings.
