Wall bracing is one of the critical elements of a wood-framed structure, providing resistance to forces that act along the wall plane. This program will cover the simplified wall bracing methods in the IRC as well as the APA simplified method in SR102.
Learning Objectives:
1. Review the limitations of the simplified wall methods
2. Learn how to calculate the amount of bracing required
3. Determine braced wall panel placement requirements
4. Compare the differences between the APA and IRC simplified wall bracing methods.
