ALA is moving the Midwest Architecture Conference to the NIU Naperville Conference Center in 2020 while we evaluate other venues for 2021, including NIU, downtown Chicago, the O’Hare area, and returning to our long-term location, Drury Lane. ALA has used the NIU space in the past; it offers great space, location and services.

The NIU Naperville Conference Center is conveniently located in the western suburbs of Chicago and is easily accessible from Interstate I-88, O’Hare Airport (20 Miles), and downtown Chicago (30 miles). NIU Naperville Conference Address: 1120 East Diehl Road, Naperville, IL,  60563.

Tabletop Space Available
This year we will offer tabletop space 8 ft. wide and 6 ft. deep that includes a 6 ft. table, linen tablecloth, two chairs and a shared wastebasket. There are 42 tabletops in the main ballroom, which is on the ground floor nearby to breaks, lunch, and the keynote session lets out right outside. In addition, there are 13 positions on the second floor landing and down the hallway outside of seminar rooms.

Architects will attend seminars throughout the day on the first and second floors. Attendee breaks will be set up on both floors. Traffic will be excellent in both areas given the ratio of exhibit space to 300 expected attendees PLUS attendee engagement activities.

Pre-registration for 2019 exhibitors closed on Jan. 31, but we still have space for new exhibitors! General exhibitor registration opens soon.

Key Deadlines
Jan. 31 – Pre-registration for 2019 exhibitors was closed
Late March – Available space will be opened to prospective exhibitors
March 20 – Payment in full for exhibit space is due for pre-registered exhibitors
After March 20 and through August 31, payments are due within 30 days of booking.
 
Show Hours
Exhibitor Setup: 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Show Hours: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Attending the show only is no charge and is open to all architects and related professions.)

Seminars and Lunch Schedule
 Keynote  8 a.m. – 9 a.m.
 Show  9 a.m. – 10 a.m.
 Session I  10 a.m. - 11 a.m.
 Session II  11:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
 Lunch and Show  12:15 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.
 Session III  1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
 Afternoon Break and Show  2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
 Session IV  3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
 Cash Bar and Appetizers  4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Cancellation Policy
All cancellations and requests for a refund must be submitted in writing to: ALA, One East Northwest Hwy., Ste. 200, Palatine, IL 60067, and acknowledged by the Association of Licensed Architects. Cancellations received before March 31, 2020 refunds 100% of payment. Cancellations received between April 1 and June 30, 2020 refunds 50% of payment. No requests for refunds will be granted after July 1, 2020.
