This 90-minute seminar reviews and analyzes selected significant changes from the 2018 IBC to the 2021 IBC. Discussions will assist code users in identifying the specific code changes that have occurred, and more importantly, understanding the reason behind the change. Finally, it explains those code changes selected due to their frequency of application, special significance or change in application.
Goal:
The goal of Significant Changes to the 2021 International Building Code® is to familiarize building officials, fire officials, plans examiners, inspectors, design professionals, contractors, and others in the construction industry with some of the important changes in the 2021 International Building Code® (IBC®).
This seminar is designed to assist those code users in identifying the specific code changes that have occurred and, more important, understanding the reason behind the change.
Upon completion of this seminar, participants will be better able to:
- Identify the most significant differences between the 2018 IBC and the 2021 IBC.
- Explain the differences between the current and previous edition.
- Identify key changes in organization and code requirements.
- Identify the applicability of design, plan review and inspection requirements.
