Description:
This continuing education course is designed for architects, engineers, contractors, and construction professionals who want to explore the versatility of precast concrete as a building material. The course will focus on precast applications, including architectural precast, hollowware precast, and the benefits of long span precast.

The first part of the course will provide an overview of precast concrete and its advantages, including its durability, versatility, and low maintenance requirements. Participants will also learn about the different types of precast, including architectural precast, which is used for decorative purposes, and hollowware precast, which is used for structural applications.

The second part of the course will explore the architectural precast, including its design capabilities, the different finishes that can be achieved, and how it can be used to enhance the aesthetic appeal of a building. Participants will also learn about the different types of architectural precast, including cornices, columns, and panels.

The third part of the course will focus on hollowware precast, including its structural capabilities, and how it can be used to create long span structures. Participants will also learn about the benefits of using long span precast, including reduced construction time and cost, improved safety, and enhanced sustainability.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the benefits of precast concrete as a building material.
  2. Identify the different types of precast, including architectural precast and hollowware precast.
  3. Describe the design capabilities of architectural precast and its different finishes.
  4. Discuss the structural capabilities of hollowware precast and its benefits in creating long span structures.
  5. Evaluate the advantages of using long span precast, including reduced construction time and cost, improved safety, and enhanced sustainability.
